What we (didn't) learn from others: Making soy* as a feminist-aesthetic tool

Thursday 7.12.2023, 19:00 (EET-Greece)

Tavros, Anaxagora 33, Athens

Open discussion that at Tavros project space. An expanded pedagogy event in dialogue with the Akin exhibition by Céline Condorelli and Angela Melitopoulos.

The Centre for New Media and Feminist Public Practices (CNMFPP) organises a number of diverse expanded pedagogical practices based on exchanges of formal/informal, non-formal knowledge, experience, consciousness. By activating feminist tools and critical pedagogies and epistemologies, we attempt a troubling of the historiographical canon, the way we narrate exhibitions and projects.

In the context of the Centre's activities of Feminist (un)learnings, the CNMFPP team return for the second time to Tavros Project Space to discuss tactics of “insightful vision”.

*A term proposed by anthropologist and historian Svetlana Slapšak analogous to kin, soy is a word (originally turkish) used for kinship and biological strain in balkan countries, that Slapšak uses to deconstruct the biases, essentialism and patriarchal connotations that carries.
